1. Your Right to Delete Your Account
You may request deletion of your Livit account at any time. To do so, contact our support team at support@thelivit.app. Deletion requests cannot be completed via the app without contacting support. This is to ensure all applicable account data is deleted and not just the information on your phone.
2. Before You Request Deletion
If you have any of the following active on your account, you must resolve them before your account can be deleted:
Open listings with active buyer interest or ongoing negotiations
Pending or in-progress escrow transactions
Outstanding payouts or unresolved disputes
If you need to request deletion before resolving active transactions, you are required to notify the support team at support@thelivit.app, who will guide you through the necessary steps.
3. The Deletion Process
Once you submit a deletion request to support@thelivit.app:
Our team will acknowledge your request and confirm eligibility.
A 30-day cooling-off period begins. During this time your account is deactivated but not deleted. You may cancel your request by contacting support.
After 30 days, if no cancellation request has been received, your account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted.
4. What We Delete
Upon permanent deletion, we remove the following data from our systems:
Name, email address, phone number
Profile photo and biography
Date of birth and gender
Saved delivery addresses
Buyer preferences
Chat and message history
Review and rating history
Verification data held by Livit
5. What We Retain
Certain data is retained after account deletion to meet our legal obligations under UAE law:
Transaction and financial records (order history, payment records, invoices) are retained for 7 years from the end of the relevant tax period, as required under UAE VAT Law and UAE Corporate Tax Law.
Anonymised or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for platform analytics and fraud prevention purposes.
Your deleted personal data will not be used for marketing or product personalisation.
6. Third-Party Data
Livit uses third-party services for identity verification. Upon account deletion, we will remove your verification data held on all systems.
7. Reactivation
Account deletion is permanent. After the 30-day cooling-off period has elapsed and your account has been deleted, it cannot be recovered. You are welcome to create a new account at any time.
8. Response Timeframe
We will acknowledge your deletion request within 5 business days. Under UAE PDPL, we are required to fulfil valid data deletion requests within 20 business days.
